CCBM Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging Statement

“At Dana-Farber, we are committed to doing everything in our power to eliminate racial, socioeconomic, cultural, and other disparities in patient care, cancer research, and cancer treatment and outcomes.”
— Laurie H. Glimcher, MD, Dana-Farber President and CEO

We believe that in order to tackle hard scientific problems we need all hands and minds on deck! Therefore, we have created an inclusive environment that nurtures individual talents and interest of all trainees regardless of their race, socioeconomic background, religious and cultural identities, gender identities, sexual orientations, national origins, and disability status. We provide resources to help them flourish and grow, and are committed to training mentors on culturally sensitive and inclusive mentoring practices.

More broadly, we are part of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, an institution committed to diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging statement efforts as illustrated by the recent investment of $50 million dollars over the next 5 years to address cancer disparities in research, access to care, and access to careers and advancement. The Institute is also being recognized for its work in this space and was named a 2022 LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader.
